It is with much sadness that we have to report the passing of Tim Elson, past British Champion and President of Twickenham Rifle and Pistol Club.
Funeral details are not yet known. An obituary notice will be published in ‘On Target’ in due course.
It has been brought to our attention that the Statutory Amendment for the new Firearms Application Form has been signed with a go live date of 31 December 2017. There is a transition period for applications made on the old form.
The cut off date for submissions using the old form is 28 February 2018.
We would advise members to contact their local licensing authority for further information and a copy of the new application form when required.
The NSRA has identified that there is a need to review and probably amend the direction it is taking if it is to guarantee its longevity. A decline in the number of members and affiliated clubs and competition entries has necessitated this review.
It is with the greatest of sadness that we have to inform you of the passing of Lones Wigger.
He passed away on the 14th December at approximately 6:51pm Colorado Springs time.
We would like to offer our condolences to the friends, family, colleagues and all of those who knew Lones.
If you have not yet completed and sent in your NSRA Club re-affiliation forms with payment for 2018, we would urge you to do so without delay.
Please note; if you do not re-affiliate, your clubs insurance cover will expire at midnight on the 31st December 2017.
If you have already completed and sent in your Club re-affiliation forms for 2018, thank you and welcome to another year of NSRA affiliation.

The Home Office has opened a public consultation on what they consider to be "Offensive and Dangerous Weapons". This includes plans to apply further restrictions on .50 calibre and MARS (Manually Activated Release System) rifles which are currently for target shooting.
The policy intends to remove the availability of these Firearms for civilian use suggesting they may be used for terrorism. The proposed changes will raise them from Section 1 of the Firearms Act where they can be held on a normal Firearms Certificate to Section 5 and so effectively banned.
We are understandably beginning to receive enquiries from NSRA Affiliated Clubs regarding the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) which comes into force on the 28th May 2018.
The detail of the regulation is currently being considered by the NSRA, so that the best advice can be communicated to all members as to the implications and recommended actions required.
Should any member wish to access further information at this stage we recommend the following link:
We are aware that following an adjournment debate in Parliament on the use and control of airguns, the Minister for Policing and Fire Service, Nick Hurd has undertaken to review the regulation of air weapons in England and Wales.
