The Home Countries won 22 medals in all in the shooting events of the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast.

My club is affiliated to the NSRA, therefore I am a member of the NSRA.

Truth 1

To be a member of the NSRA you have to take out individual membership, either Annual or Associate. By affiliating to the NSRA, your club has insurance for both liability and equipment owned by the club. However, any personal equipment owned by members is not covered by club insurance. By taking out individual membership, not only is your shooting equipment covered (including theft from vehicles), but there are other benefits such as legal costs and personal accident insurance. In addition, you have access to a wide range of NSRA competitions which are open to members only.

The NSRA's communication is not as effective as it could be.

Truth 2

Historically the NSRA has communicated with its membership in a number of ways. The Association’s magazine has been a prime mechanism of communication supported by the website and general correspondence. Over the past six years email has been used more widely with social media being fully utilised during the past year.

However the main avenues that have been used are through Club Secretaries or named Correspondents and the Shooting Council. These conduits aim to provide information directly to clubs and their members with the hope being that anything sent to the Club Secretary will be shared with the members of that club.

A successful workshop concentrating on the future of the NSRA was held at Lord Roberts Centre, Bisley on 27 and 28 January 2018.

Some 40 delegates attended from all regions of the UK and contributed to the sessions which looked at increasing membership as well as reviewing the competition structure.

The Home Office is to review airgun legislation following two tragic cases in which airguns were misused with serious consequences. See Home Office to review air weapons regulation in England and Wales for background information.

The NSRA is taking an active role in discussing the issues regarding proposed legislation with Government and representatives of shooting organisations are to agree a pro-active response at a meeting of BSSC in early 2018.

As the National Governing Body, the NSRA has a policy in place to not become involved, comment on or reply to personal views or opinions posted on social media and will not respond via social media. However the NSRA will continue to share information on their website, and via our social media when relevant.

The 131st International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in Lima - on proposal of the IOC Executive Board - has confirmed the place of Shooting in the sports programme of the Olympic Games 2024.

The wait is finally over and here is the full video from the Roberts Trophy Match verses the USA at Bisley 2017...

We are aware that following an adjournment debate in Parliament on the use and control of airguns, the Minister for Policing and Fire Service, Nick Hurd has undertaken to review the regulation of air weapons in England and Wales.
