Some questions have been asked regarding the delay in getting renewal paperwork out to our affiliated clubs and as a result I thought it would be useful to clarify the situation.

The NSRA has appointed a new broker and insurance company for 2017. Bluefin Sport are a very well established and respected insurer and cover many National Governing Bodies and other mainstream sporting organisations. Bluefin Sport have an excellent understanding of shooting sports in particular and currently also insure the interests of BASC members. They also provider insurance cover for the Football Association, English Squash and the British Fencing Association to name but a few.
The NSRA will be working with Bluefin as our broker and XL Catlin, who are the largest insurance syndicate at Lloyds as our primary insurer. The consequence of this is that it has been necessary to review and where required amend all the membership and affiliation paperwork and this is the reason for the unavoidable delay. Paperwork will however be sent to clubs by the end of November 2016 and information for individual members despatched with the Winter edition of 'On Target', which should also arrive with members by the end of November.
I am pleased to report that the insurance being provided now includes all of the cover previously enjoyed by our members, but with significant enhancements in the level and range of benefits. The insurance therefore also provides better value for money with savings being made to the cost of legal expenses and other "top up" cover. The Winter edition of the magazine carries an article on the insurance provided by Bluefin Sport and XL Catlin and references the improved benefits etc. Hopefully the article in 'On Target' and the paperwork being sent will answer the majority of the questions members and clubs may have.
If there is anything that anyone wishes to discuss or clarify, contact should be made with the Association's Membership Team who will only be too pleased to help.
I believe the new insurance cover to be significantly better than that presently provided and hope that members and clubs will agree with this and therefore fully appreciate the reasons for the change of broker and insurer.
